Suriname
Suriname is positioned next to Guyana on the South American continent. It is famous for its tropical rainforest, Dutch colonial architecture, and lush garden landscapes in the capital city of Paramaribo. Formerly a country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Suriname gained independence in 1975. Mining, agriculture, and ecotourism are significant components of the economy of Suriname. Suriname is also one of the few carbon-negative countries in the world.
